Michael Forrester – MD/PhD Fellow
Michael is a fellow in pulmonary, allergy and critical care medicine. His research background is nitrosative stress, cysteine-based posttranslational modifications (S-nitrosylation, S-palmitoylation), assay development and signal transduction. Michael’s research plan centers around lung epithelial repair in the context of acute injury and cancer treatment-related pneumonitis (eg immune checkpoint inhibitor, radiation) with the ultimate goal of identifying strategies that may attenuate damage to the critical gas exchanges surfaces of the lung.
